The genesis and the evolution
ABOUT: Fossil‑free hydrogen from direct seawater electrolysis powered by ocean wave energy (plus sub- & suprasystems).
The concept on this website grew from curiosity and concern for industrial and societal cohesion.
In particular, the slow progress in ocean wave energy and the broader industrial decline raised questions prompted the developments presented here.
This website contains technical, societal and business reflections and operational variants. For both, quantitative estimates remain to be completed.
These ideas are not intended as a personal manufacturing venture: their scale and potential impact require broad collaboration and alignment with European Programmes.
Executive Summary
This initiative develops a concept for fossil‑free hydrogen produced by direct seawater electrolysis powered by ocean wave energy.
Consequential developments emerged from technical necessity and from opportunities consolidated by sustainable hydrogen.
We seek industrial partners, research institutes, engineering teams interested in one or more selected ideas to advance proof‑of‑concept,
feasibility validation and scalable trials and possible industrial implementation.
Relevance and Impact
The concept addresses European priorities including energy transition, technological autonomy, infrastructure resilience and industrial competitiveness.
Potential impacts include reduced fossil fuel dependence, local value creation and demonstrable CO₂ reduction when scaled.
The context of urgency, the importance of diversified, valuable employment are underlined elsewhere on this website.
Partner Profiles needed
-
Engineering teams: technical second opinion, design and construction specifications;
-
Research partners: scientific second opinion, digital modelling, laboratory validation;
-
Pilot facilities: bath trials with operational testing, data collection and parameterization;
-
Development partner: design and construction of monitoring and navigation equipment;
-
Industry partners: prototype construction, manufacturing scale‑up;
-
Business partners: commercial positioning and global market deployment.
Development Path and First Steps
The concepts have been documented through i-Depot registrations at BOIP. Additional elaborations may be deposited
as the work progresses. The actual TRL is between 1-4. Collaboration Contours are set out in Topic: "Roadmap".
Publication on this website establishes prior art and clarifies the development direction.
The next stage ideally involves: Phase 1: initial exchange of information and access to Booklet (no NDA).
Phase 2: NDA and delivery of full technical prospectus. Phase 3: short feasibility study or independent second opinion.
Phase 4 to N: Pilot proposal and timeline for deliverables.
Deployment Strategy Seanergy.be
A free‑floating open‑ocean blueprint remains the long‑term objective, as it benefits most from continous abundance and offers the lowest vulnerability.
Early deployment, however, can first focus on a fixed addition of Sea-wiggle.R to offshore windparks, than shifting
the focus on a mid-offshore anchored variant that preserves most functional and output advantages while providing a more
controlled and accessible environment.
This mid-offshore configuration enables faster systematic learning on mechanical behaviour, operational procedures, and monitoring,
while experiments with navigation tools are less critical to conclude.
Mid-offshore deployment also allows practical experience to be gained in maintenance, logistics, and AI‑controlled navigation (although with limited freedom).
Such phased trajectories reduce the risks associated with scaling to harder conditions and acquire faster the level of operational maturity.
The near‑shore anchored variant, could become an export product for regions with lower sea‑traffic intensity than the North Sea.
My involvement in this complex scope
I contribute as an inventor and problem solver, assisting construction design, and participation in system analysis and (unconventional) solution approaches.
Within a collaborative structure I would remain involved at key milestones, to support technical evaluation,
design improvement, risk analysis, experimental validation and operational testing.
Intellectual Property and Collaboration Terms
If mutual interest arises, access to full technical descriptions will be subject to a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
Further collaboration, including development activities, intellectual property strategy and licensing options
will be defined by mutual agreement; typical arrangements may include licensing or regional exclusivity.
To ensure traceability and protect the interests of potential industrial partners, access to complete
technical descriptions may require formal registration and a participation fee.
