Seanergy.be Harvesting open ocean wave energy.
Seanergy.be is a study of pros and cons of a fleet of off-grid WECs and a factory ship operating in cycles:
'Release Sea-wiggle.Rs into wave-rich open ocean and hoist them up to tap the gases from seawater electrolysis.
Meanwhile, the ship serves as a supply station for clean marine fuel.
On board reactors that convert the collected H2, O2 into HC derivatives from
CC, PxOy, NH3, NOx for non-polluting e-fuels, fertilisers and as a
basis for high-value molecules CnH2n+2(1-r), or burning H(C)(O) in mini-energy plants to charge
container-sized batteries (for exchange in a habor).
Our ocean wave energy convertor concept is among all R.E. high
sustainable:
1) the energy content has significant components in planetary motions; 2) it is not at the expense of photosynthesis or
the repartition function of wind; 3) no contaminants in his LC chain; 4) acceptable conversion losses.
This deep blue R.E. pillar is based on autonomous sailing, monitored off-grid Sea-wiggle.Rs, with internal seawater
electrolysis and gas storage. Our free-floating WECs are always productive, less vulnerable
than windparks with high-voltage networks or pipelines and have probably a low MTTR.
A circular economy of matter needs less energy than one based on mining and landfill dump!
A circular economy of hydrocarbons needs more energy than one based on fossils and refining!
Cons are offset by abundance, predictability, diversifcation of distribution:
1) Our renewable H₂, paired with carbon capture, enables green chemistry via synthetic hydrocarbons;
2) These custom energy carriers suit gas turbines, blast furnaces, jet engines and remote or emergency interventions;
3) Our deep blue H₂ is a driver for more net-zero (hybrid) heavy
logistics & rare material-aware electrification trough community
stations, and it is an incentive to ban fossil CO₂ emissions.
